Many Pet Owners believe their Veterinarians register their pet's microchips.

        FALSE!

It is the responsibility of the Pet Owner to register their contact information.

        Register My Pet

Life is busy! Many Pet Owners have every intention of registering their pet once they are chipped, but get so busy, they forget :-(

        Register My Pet

Many Pet Owners are not Internet savvy or overwhelmed with the choices of databases to use. Many also are not fans of the high cost and recurring annual fees certain chip companies charge to keep their microchip registered.

With iRegisterPets, there's only a 1-time small fee to have your pet's microchip registered for life!

      • What is a Microchip?

We're on a mission to help pets have the BEST chance of getting home to their families

        Cat with microchip

A pet microchip is a small electronic chip—about the size of a grain of rice—that's implanted just under your pet's skin, typically between the shoulder blades. It's not a GPS or tracking device, but rather a permanent form of identification.

        How it works:

        • Each chip has a unique identification number.
        • When a lost pet is found and scanned with a microchip scanner (used by vets, shelters, or animal control), the ID number pops up.
        • That number is used to look up the pet owner's contact information in a pet microchip registry.

        REGISTER Your Pet's Information

With iRegister Pets, we walk you through the process of registering your pet's information and the contact information to use if ever your pet is lost. Once this information is put into a National Database, if ever your pet is found and scanned, your contact information will appear. Then someone can contact you to get your pet home!

        Have Peace of Mind

A microchip is a reliable form of ID for you and your pet. A microchip is "tamper-proof" and can't be removed like a collar or tag could be. A microchip doesn't get worn out, lost, stolen or forgotten.

Once your pet's chip is registered, you gain some peace of mind knowing if your pet is lost, you are only a phone call away!

      • How Do I Find My Pet's Microchip Number?

If you cannot locate the paperwork you received with the microchip was implanted into your pet, the best way to find out is to bring your pet to your Veterinarian or Local Shelter. The team there will have a special RFID scanner which they will wave over your pet's shoulder area to scan for the chip. Once located, your pet's microchip number will be revealed. Write that number down and submit it to us when using our service to register your pet's information. Depending on the make and age of the chip, the number will be between 9, 10 or 15 digits long. The majority of numbers begin with number 9. Older chips can begin with the numbers 0, 1, 4, 7 or the letters TR.
